Northwoods 04:42
Cedar falling, falling from the trees There's an old man walking miles on his knees He's a healer, teacher, clearing up the weeds Waiting for a clearing, goes and plants the seeds He's singing, "Season, season, come back to me... Give me some reason blooming at my feet; I've got that snow fear, iced and cold Here nothing blooms, year long, you know Year long, you know." Healing in the north woods, giving thanks to the seeds then heading towards the harbor on the first breath of spring Taking time for the new bloom, for the opening Then comes the harvest, leaves falling from the trees Love will always find, always find a way Seasons change

Sadie 04:39
Sadie's in the back room on the full moon It was the kind of light that she wanted I was in the kitchen, waiting on a vision for some higher calling that I needed You took my name down, I did not notice I yearned for choirs of angels Then later when the phone rang there could be no string that would loose the tangle Later in the summertime Lydie's drinking bottled wine She said, "everyone's got a dime, back in Paris" Lost it to ignition I danced before I listened; he said, "answer the storyline" then he did it You took my name down, I did not notice I yearned for choirs of angels and later when the phone rang there could be no string that would loose the tangle Then I saw a white light then I heard a gentle sigh and I told God a storyline, like I believed it Then I felt a mercy like water to the thirsting, and He said, "wait, until the morning comes" And He said, "wait until the morning comes" You took my name down, I did not notice I yearned for choirs of angels and later when the phone rang there could be no string that would loose the tangle You took my name down, I did not notice I yearned for choirs of angels

Seven seconds away from that leap of faith few more moments of waiting before that space between opens up from below They all called you superman catching the rays of sun in your hand you left New York for the road to open up, open up, open your soul to the river it runs it flows Are you love sick, are you selfish treasure harvest before you plant it do you feel it heal the surface before the roots grow and make you nervous can you see it can you feel it love to love but fear to lose it you love to love but you fear to lose it it comes back, if you choose it say so The river it runs it flows You're seven seconds away you're seven seconds away from your leap of faith your leap of faith Open up open your soul

Waking Up 03:43
I'm waking up in the morning out from the dead I'm waking up to all the strange things in my head Talking so loud, I can't understand talking so loud, I can't understand Talking so loud... I'm waking up ... They said, "go down south instead" "go down south where the mountains are so bright red" "go down south," they said, "clear your head..." You're waking up in the morning you feel new nothing left to fear you just want someone to talk to Someone told me that you would be there writing stories into the air Someone told me that you would be there and you were there We thought the morning would never come and now the sunlight's in our eyes like a beating drum now you feel like you can be someone Go be someone, go, go, be someone Run You're waking up, you're waking up, you're waking up We're waking up, we're waking up, we're waking up We're waking up

Weightless 03:25
Apples that fall from trees, he wants the best for me said there's a hidden sea, and "that's where I'm goin'" Now I'm walking past the county line counting paces just to keep in time said there's a human, kind way to the garden See the desert kind of had that glow when the sun went down and the light was low See the embers kind of had that show in the melody where I could go where I was weightless, weightless in my dreams See I'm weightless, weightless in my dreams Sister's under mind control said, "let the good times roll!" she seems to find the well she's taking the water Now she's pacing by the county line, escaping just to keep her rhyme oh she's a humankind, she's back in the garden See the desert kind of had that glow when the sun went down and the light was low See the embers kind of had that show in the melody where I could go where I was weightless, weightless in my dreams See I'm weightless, weightless in my dreams

about

We are pleased to announce the release of a new album, which was a collaboration among musicians in the Minneapolis/St. Paul region - we called ourselves "The Northwoods" for this project. The project was made up of five musicians; Jordan Hedlund, Tony Johnson, Grey Tison, Michael (Mike) Shiltz and Allison Eykholt. Jordan Hedlund, a talented jazz pianist in the Twin Cities, also produced the record and offered invaluable insight on tone, sound and delivery. We were lucky to have a star blues/roots player Tony Johnson on bass - who truly delivered a driving groove throughout the songs and intuitively communicated a new tone to the songs. Grey Tison - a musical polymath and multi-instrumentalist composer - played the accordion, drums (set and Djembe), and banjo, who displayed remarkable depth and breadth throughout the recording process. Singer, Allison Eykholt wrote the songs, composed the guitar parts, played mandolin and Djembe, and added layered harmonies for added textures. And last but not least, Michael (Mike) Schiltz, the all-star drummer, brought a whole new essence to the EP and is the force behind our rock track: Seven Seconds.
